Community Engagement Fund 2018-2019 (19/337) Memorandum dated 21 March 2019 by the Community Advisor - Funding and Community Contracts |

The Community Advisor - Funding and Community Contracts elaborated on the memorandum. |

Resolved: (Mr Heslin/Mr Qin) Minute No. ECP 19202 “That the Panel: (i)
notes the Community Engagement Fund
closed on 4 March 2019 and four applications had been received; (ii)
agrees that the applications were
considered according to the merits of the application criteria and priorities
of the fund; (iii)
agrees to allocating $2,074 to The
Common Unity Project towards the purchase of office equipment; (iv)
agrees to allocating $3,000 to the
Naenae Menz Shed towards the purchase of a new band saw; (v)
agrees to allocating $2,987 to Te Awakarangi
Access Trust towards stage hire costs associated with the Symphony in the
Hutt event to be held at the Walter Nash Stadium on Friday 17 May 2019; and (vi) agrees to allocating $400 to Hutt Timebank Charity Trust towards printing Timebank material associated with their Wesley Community Action community lunches held in Naenae.” |

The Community Advisor – Funding and Community Contracts and the Divisional Manager, Infrastructure Contracts made the following comments: ·
Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) ·
Wellington Free Ambulance had offered AED training to those on
site at the locations where the AEDs were to be installed. · Included on each of the AEDs were the inscription “supported by Eastern Community Panel”;

Water fountains ·
New Naenae Skatepark ·
Restoration of the Clocktower Members requested that officers: (i) Explore alternative site locations for a new skatepark in Naenae; (ii) explore alternative site locations for the water fountain that was to be located at Naenae Park; and (iii) continue conversations regarding the clocktower. |
