The following action points were agreed:

DAP18/5 - Members agreed that officers would provide an update on Emergency Management and Civil Defence including preparedness and community resilience with particular regard to transport links and electricity. 

Members agreed that officers would facilitate a workshop with Wellington Electricity to update Councillors on investment in Lower Hutt.

DAP18/25 – Members agreed that officers would provide an update on modelling to reduce traffic issues near Kmart in Petone.

DAP18/1 - Members agreed that officers would report back on the viability of completing the shell of the Te Whiti Park Sporting Hub.

DAP18/86 – Members agreed that officers would report back on opportunities for disabled toilets and changing facilities.

DAP18/108 – Members agreed that officers would report back on the environmental impacts of 4K LED streetlights, options for the way they are used and other lighting options.

DAP18/52– Members agreed that officers would report back on options for Baseball New Zealand and the Wellington Baseball Association regarding space for a national baseball facility.

In response to questions from members, Mr Norton said that KLHB was asking for $40,000 per year for the next three years to increase the number of trees in accordance with Council’s Urban Forest Plan. In addition, KLHB was asking for $54,891 over three years for community focused projects, as outlined on page two of its submission.

Ms Virginia Horrocks, Chair, representing Eastbourne Community Board presented submission DAP18/93. She queried whether the date of 2038 for climate change funding was correct in the Annual Plan Consultation Document.

Mayor Wallace asked officers to confirm the accuracy of the date for climate change funding.

Mayor Wallace agreed that the Jackson Street Programme would be involved in discussions related to roadworks along Jackson Street with Council’s Divisional Manager, Transport.

Ms Muriel Tunoho and Mr Archie Kerr representing Hutt Union and Community Health Service and Living Wage Hutt Valley presented submission DAP18/70 and DAP18/79.

Ms Colleen Dunne presented submission DAP18/148.

The following action points were agreed:

DAP18/161 - Members agreed that officers would review options for the Citizens Advice Bureau to be based in City libraries.

DAP18/101 - Members agreed that officers would report back on Naenae Park and also on Hillary Court playground.

Members agreed that officers would report back on the condition and maintenance audit of Council playgrounds in Lower Hutt, to include the forecast deficit, maintenance budget and list of the 10 newest playgrounds.

DAP18/116 – Members agreed that officers would provide an update on the Dowse Drive Reserve recent works and costings for any consequential works.

Mayor Wallace thanked GWRC for its submission. He advised that an upcoming Councillor workshop concerning the Riverlink Project would clarify points of uncertainty regarding the project.

Members agreed that officers would report on the status of the upgrading works on footpaths in parts of Hill Road.

Mayor Wallace advised that reports had been requested from officers concerning traffic issues around the Kmart intersection in Petone.

Mayor Wallace undertook to investigate the relationship between all parties and agreed Capital Football should be consulted when the contract with the grounds maintenance contractor was renegotiated.

Mayor Wallace invited Ms Brown to the Homelessness and Emergency and Transitional Housing Workshop scheduled for 21 May 2018.

Mayor Wallace said he would welcome an initiative from the Board to canvass its residents on options for the swimmming pool and the development of Northern Wainuiomata. He said he would be pleased if the Board could submit on the 2019 Annual Plan with firm views from its community.
